I can remember a period of time when Target peddled garments that were barely socially acceptable. Nowadays, it seems major brand names have been brought into Target stores and it is almost like it has turned into a nice store to shop for clothes. If you’re not in agreement, perhaps you just haven’t gotten wind that premium designer jeans brand William Rast has just recently been appended to the list of brands you can shop at Target.
If you aren’t privy, William Rast is a popular and up-and-coming maker of designer denim jeans, founded in part by former N*Sync singer, Justin Timberlake. This brand of designer jeans has been seen on the rear-ends of a bunch of famous celebrities in Hollywood. You can bet they’ll be the most costly denim available for sale at any given Target in the United States, but they’re still on sale at Target. Does it boggle your mind or what?
As a small fry, I recall being bored to tears at Target and pleading with my mom to purchase me a $11 Seiko watch. Of course I can’t say with any degree of certainty what other types of wrist watches were available for sale, but I’m somewhat confident there were numerous types all within that same price range. Nowadays, you can see many types sold there costing $100 or more.
One more scenario is my adolescence. In the name of saving some coin, my mother would buy me clothes at Target. While the vast majority of my schoolmates were sporting cool, much more pricey, surf type brand names, I was sporting weird brands like Utility and Mossimo, which were the bread and butter of Target in those days. It was quite life-shattering.
But today things have changed. Nowadays, buying clothes at Target stores is pretty much the “in” thing you can do. What’s next?
